In my latest poll, fans overwhelmingly voted for the Yankees trading Shelley Duncan. Here are the full results:
Trade him: 83%
Don’t trade him: 17%
Duncan still leads the International League in homers and RBIs by a wide margin, but the Yankees still have not promoted him.
The thing is, a call up wouldn’t even do him any good. He is no better than Nick Swisher or Melky Cabrera. There is simply no room for him on this team.
It is an absolute travesty that this guy hasn’t been moved yet. He deserves another shot to prove what he has, and will not get that in New York barring an injury.
