Blue Jays-Yankees series preview

The Yankees (69-42) start a three-game series in the Bronx tonight against the Blue Jays (53-57). The Yankees have a luxurious 15.5 game lead over Toronto.

Head-to-Head:
The two teams have met nine times already this season, and the Yankees have won seven of those games. After this series, they will face each other six times in September.

Pitching Matchups:

Date: Blue Jays starters Yankees starters
7:05 p.m., Mon. M. Rzepczynski (1-3, 3.74) Sergio Mitre (1-0, 7.50)
7:05 p.m., Tues. Scott Richmond (6-6, 3.97) J. Chamberlain (8-2, 3.73)
1:05 p.m., Wed. Ricky Romero (10-5, 3.66) A.J. Burnett (10-5, 3.67)

My Outlook:
The Yankees are probably a little tired after sweeping the Red Sox, but they still have the better team. Luckily Roy Halladay isn’t scheduled to pitch. Two out of three shouldn’t be asking too much, especially at home.
