2009 August in Review

One month down, two more to go (better late than never).

August Record:
20-8 (.714)
Overall Record:  83-48 (.602)
Divisional Standings:  Up 6.5 games over Red Sox

August in Review:
A seven-game winning streak — including a four-game sweep of the Red Sox — after losing the first game of the month kept them right where they left off in July. But the wins wouldn’t stop. After one loss to the Blue Jays, a five-game winning streak began. They beat the Red Sox again (two out of three), but then finally lost a series to the Rangers (two out of three). However, a four-game winning streak was the perfect way to finish the month.

September/October Opponents in order: Orioles (Away,2), Blue Jays (A,4), Rays (H,4), Orioles (H,3), Angels (H,1), Blue Jays (H,2), Mariners (A,3), Angels (A,3), Red Sox (H,3) Royals (H,3) & in October, the Rays (A,3).

September/October opponents winning percentage as of August 1: .499

Standings as of Sept. 1 before play.
