This card is actually quite valuable, and could become even more valuable if Joba Chamberlain winds up with a great career. Chamberlain could be the X-factor when it comes to the playoffs.
His fantastic start against the Red Sox only further proves how inconsistent a pitcher he is. Somehow, someway, he had complete control over his pitches that day. Homers by Victor Martinez and David Ortiz hurt his line a little, but it was still a quality start.
I’m very excited to see how he performs in the playoffs with his possibly new form.
