Girardi on ejection: ‘I don’t think I deserved it’

When Joe Girardi says he didn’t deserve to be tossed from last night’s game, it upsets me.

Sure, if Lou Piniellawho says he’ll retire after this season — walks out from the dugout, he probably wants to get ejected. But when a guy who rarely gets thrown out comes out calmly from the dugout, the ump better have good reason to eject him.

After Girardi got tossed, he admitted he “got a little hot,” probably in attempts to spark his team’s offense, which had scored just two runs off starter Sean O’Sullivan.
