Poll Results: Gardner exceeded expectations the most

The Yankees had a few key unexpected performers in the first half, headed by converted left fielder Brett Gardner, according to fans.

Also high on the list were Nick Swisher and Phil Hughes, followed by Robinson Cano and Andy Pettitte. I agree with the fans about Gardy, but I would have given some more love to Pettitte. Nobody expected him to pitch like an ace for the first half. In fact, that was the best first half of his career.

Of course, now Pettitte’s out for a month.
