Jorge Posada told the NY Daily News he is preparing for the starting catcher job in 2011. He can prepare all he wants, but sooner or later he is going to have to face the facts; he’s 39 years old and it’s time to pass the torch to a Mr. Jesus Montero.
However, I think he’s right to call out the Yankees for not telling him their plans.
“If (the Yankees) want me to be DH or catch, just be honest and let me know what's up.”
This wouldn’t have to be a PSA, but I think a meeting behind closed doors would benefit Posada. If the Yankees aren’t going to tell him ahead of time, I’d have to assume they are still considering him for the job.
