Obvious Yankees headline fail

*Breaking news* from Aaron Gleeman of NBC Sports Hardball Talk:
Why would the Yankees drop Rafael Soriano from the setup man role after one poor month (not even)?

For relievers, one terrible outing ruins a season ERA. Because of his April 5 performance, or lack thereof, Soriano can only give up three more earned runs over his next 50-plus innings if he wants to match his 2010 numbers.

The Yankees owe Soriano $35 million over the next three years (if he decides to stay).

This isn’t the first time the Yankees have chosen not to demote a player likely because of his salary. … I’m not mentioning any specific name until May 1.
