Yankees-Orioles series preview: Weather permitting

The Orioles got off to a hot start, but after hitting the 6-1 mark, they’ve tailed off to 8-10. This weekend they play host to the Yankees for just two games because yesterday’s game got postponed. Since 2000, the Yankees are 131-67 against the O’s.

On the Hill:
Saturday: CC Sabathia (0-1, 2.52) vs. Brad Bergesen (0-2, 3.38)
Sunday: Freddy Garcia (1-0, 1.29) vs. Jake Arrieta (2-1, 5.06)

Players to Watch:
Brett Gardner: His terrible start to the year lost him the leadoff spot, and now he’ll try to earn it back. In the second inning of tonight’s game, he legged out a double. Maybe that’s the spark he needs to get going.

Nick Markakis: He’s a career .304/.364/.472 hitter against the Yankees and a flat-out dangerous hitter.

Prediction:
Sabathia earns his first win of April tonight and Garcia puts on another pitching clinic on Sunday.
