Yankees-Orioles Series Preview

The Yankees look to start a winning streak tonight at Camden Yards following their six-game slide to the Royals, Red Sox and Rays.

On the Hill:
Wednesday: Bartolo Colon (2-2, 3.74) vs. Zach Britton (5-2, 2.42)
Thursday: CC Sabathia (3-3, 3.47) vs. Jeremy Guthrie (1-6, 3.98)
Players to Watch

:
CC Sabathia: The Orioles are like Wheaties to CC, as he’s eaten them for breakfast throughout his career. He’s 15-2 with a 2.89 lifetime ERA against the O’s. One of those wins came this year in an eight-inning, three-run performance.

Nick Markakis: As I expected, Markakis had a great series against the Yankees last time around, even though the Yankees won both games (the third was postponed). He went 3-for-9 with a homer, a double and three RBIs last series and remains a career .300 hitter against the Yankees.

Prediction:
With Sabathia’s all-but-guaranteed victory, the Yankees have a good shot at the sweep. However, Britton will be no easy task tonight, as he threw nine shutout innings in his last start against the Mariners and is the O’s best pitcher by ERA.
